Do you believe in God? When I say God, let me expand and say it could be Buddha, Krishna, Jah, the Source or whatever else you may call the ultimate being. I’m not really bothered what name you use it is the belief that I am trying to uncover. If the answer is an unequivocal no, pop back tomorrow because this post is probably not going to make much sense to you, but if the answer is yes read on.

Do you believe that God is a good judge of character and do you respect him (I am using the word him purely for convenience sake here I hasten to add!) Do you believe that God loves you and thinks all people are equal, or do you think he has his favorites?

Next question: Do you ever give yourself a hard time? Do you beat yourself up for any mistakes you make, are you a hard taskmaster and do you think nothing of talking down to yourself internally in a manner that you would never reserve for friends or family?

So let me get this straight. You believe in and respect God and think he loves you as he does all people on the planet?

So do you think you know better than God then? Do you think that he has got it wrong with you and that unlike the rest of humanity you are unworthy and not deserving of anything other than a kick up the rear-end from time to time?

No?

If not, why do you think it is ok to beat yourself up and disrespect yourself when God apparently doesn’t indulge in such bizarre and counter productive behavior?

Think about this for a moment, it’s important.

How on earth can somebody claim to believe in a benevolent all-loving being that sees all men and women as equal yet continue to undermine and hold themselves back with self-criticism?

Isn’t that the ultimate insult to God?
