You’re Not Alone
If you’re depressed – you’re not alone.
If you’re anxious for no apparent reason – you’re not alone.
If you’re victimized because of your race, color, religion or creed – you’re not alone.
If you’re gay and afraid to come out – you’re not alone.
If you’re sick – you’re not alone.
If you have low self-esteem – you’re not alone.
if you think your dark side is darker than most other people’s – you’re not alone
If you are being bullied – you’re not alone.
If you feel like you are an imposter in your job, or life in general, – you’re not alone.
If you think other people look at you with scorn and/or contempt – you’re not alone.
If you think your life sucks – you’re not alone.
If you are ashamed of your weight, looks, income, intelligence – you’re not alone.
If you’re a functioning alcoholic who is scared to admit it – you’re not alone.
If you don’t understand life and why it’s not fair – you’re not alone.
Simply put – you’re not alone.
There are probably millions of people the world over experiencing similar issues.
I don’t say this to diminish your concerns, but to reiterate, you’re not alone, to help you realise you’re probably way more normal than you think.
Isolation is scary.
Thinking our problems are worse than others is scary.
Believing we are alone with our problems on a planet of over 7 billion people is scary.
But you’re not.
The chances are, somebody loves and cares for you.
And if you can’t think of anybody, then there are people who would if they really knew you.
There are people who don’t even know you who don’t want you to feel alone.
You’re not alone, unless you choose to be.
Don’t chose to be.
We’re all in this shit togather, so group hug anybody?

This would have been a very encouraging post to read when my wife decided to forgive me. (Not to say it wasn’t encouraging now!) You are so right though – when I started my Forgiven Cheater Blog, http://forgivencheater.blogspot.com/ I truly thought I would mostly post things that were self-therapeutic. What I’ve discovered over the last year or so, is that an overwhelming amount of people are going through, or have gone through what my wife and I have.
Good reminder – you are not alone. Thank you Tim!
I really enjoyed this blog post Tim. Simple but powerful message. Thanks!
Glad you got something out of it Darren.
Wonderful post Tim! Such a beautiful, inspiring and true message.
And thanks to you too Maria.
Kittie Walker’s post brought me here as well… so I’m not alone in that respect either.
This is an excellent piece of writing and the concept is spot on.
I’m not alone in thinking that.
Pressing forward….
Thanks Stan.
Beautifully said. Should be on a poster. Everyone has times in their life when they feel alone and sometimes it is hard to change your mindset.
This is really good timing, and very lovely, Tim – I’ve got the flu and am feeling rather isolated. Good job I’ve got the cats.
Give us a hug!
I must admit, after the first few sentences, I skipped to the end to see if the last sentence was, “If you think you’re all of the above – you’re not alone. Meet Tim Brownson. He’s properly f*cked.”
NO! It’s a game, you have to find out which is the one I’m NOT!
Because Kittie Walker shared it on Facebook, I read it. Thanks for reminding us that we are not alone. No one should ever feel alone. You are describing human conditions we all experience at one point or another.
Thanks for popping by Roslyn, much appreciated.
Thanks a lot Kittie and for the Twitter share too!
This brought a beaming smile to my face when it landed in my inbox this morning! And then spent a while searching for how to share the love :-)
It’s perked me up as a blog post this lunchtime too!
As the commenter above said, thanks for be being you and for saying everything that needs saying.
~Kittie
Then I guess I am not alone …
By looking forward to your blog posts
By thinking you would be a fun and interesting person to get to know and befriend.
By wishing I had the kind of financial resources that woul enable me to call you for some coaching.
By being glad for what you write that encourages….
And more.

You’re welcome Paully, thanks for the kind words :)
